Check out the photos of Google's "Pixel 9" with an improved design

The Pixel 9 has a new design: The camera bar no longer stretches to both sides of the back of the phone, and the front and back are covered in Corning's tempered Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass.

Compared to the Pixel 8, the metal edges are flatter and bolder, which makes the Pixel 9 look more iPhone-like, which is no bad thing.

The Pixel 9 has a 6.3-inch screen, slightly larger than the Pixel 8.

The screen is brighter.

The ultra-wide camera has a 48-megapixel sensor, up from the Pixel 8's 12-megapixel sensor.

Otherwise, the Pixel 9's camera is similar to the Pixel 8's.

The camera bump protrudes from the back of the phone, but it's not very noticeable when placed on a flat surface.

The Pixel 9 comes in four colors: Peony (pictured), Wintergreen (green), Porcelain (white), and Obsidian (black).

The Pixel 9 is equipped with a number of new AI features. "Pixel Studio" is an image generation app available in some countries, including the United States, that allows you to create various images by simply entering text into prompts.

Google also highlighted Gemini, a virtual assistant that's not exclusive to Pixel phones, which users can ask about specific apps on the screen or general questions.

There's also a new "Pixel Screenshots" app available in the US that lets you search the content within screenshots stored on the device.

The Pixel 9 has a slightly larger battery capacity than the Pixel 8.

Qualcomm announces "Snapdragon 7s Gen 3" "AI for everyone"

On August 20th (local time), Qualcomm announced a new mid-range processor, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. It boasts that it "provides on-device generation AI capabilities that support LLMs such as Llama 2 1B."

Although the "s" segment has lower performance than the "Plus" and the no-brand models, the CPU is 20% faster and the GPU is 40% faster than the "Snapdragon 7s Gen 2", AI performance is 30% better, and power performance is 12% better.

"Selecting key features of the 7 Series, including on-device AI support, brings the best of the 7 Series to more mid-range devices," Qualcomm said, explaining that the move is part of "our commitment to providing consumers with best-in-class mobile experiences at every price point."

Sharp, Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme and others are expected to announce the adoption of this processor in the coming months, with Xiaomi being the first to announce the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in a new device to be announced in September.
